SROIThe value of the service provided by Moray HandyPerson Services goes well beyond what can be measured in purely financial terms. The Social Impact is measured using three audit methods:

  • Social Impact, Quality of Life and Well-being benefits
  • Financial benefit to the Public Sector
  • Social Return on Investment

Financial Benefit



  • Reduced falls
  • Reduced risk of fire
  • Reduced risk of burglary
  • Reduced use of Social Services
  • Reduced fuel poverty
  • Reduce bed blocking

*This figure was for FY 2014/15. It is calculated on the financial benefit to the public sector of the services above and has not been uplifted for inflation. It is based solely on traditional handyperson services and does not reflect the wider range of services MHPS provides or the intangible benefit of human contact and support. It is therefore much lower than the true value. 

Social Return on Investment

For every £1 put into MHPS, the social impact return is equivalent to £6.45.
